Stock 72 bug with 1300 engine, empi 8's
This was a daily driver up until about 2 years ago, when a new car meant it's sat on the
drive virtually untouched .
Before that it had drivers side heater channel, floor,
front inner wing, front clip, front wings replaced. The body was lifted off the chassis to sort out some minor
rot to a bit of the framehead bottom plate and the rear corner of one of the
floorpans. The chassis was also given a coat of black paint, the rotten beam
replaced, 3x new gearbox mounts, new hard and flexi brake pipes, 3 wheel
cylinders and a new heater cable were added.
Headliner was refitted and
black carpet added. New window rubbers and clip on bonnet and engine lid seals
(stock rust traps removed). Electrics were all connected up with no problems and
everything worked the first time! Wheels were sprayed black with stock hubcaps
added. Engine had been given the once over recently so was given a thorough
clean and a service then refitted with new fuel pipe.
Sadly, just
after it was finished Karen had to sell it but it has gone to a good home.
After stripping it down it was decided
to replace the p/s heater channel, 2 rear wing mounting panels and a p/s
door.
The whole lot was then resprayed in the original Marina blue
