Paint Was done by Charlie at
Charlies Classic Cars (07835 462565).
Being very short on time at this stage I'd got as far as I could with prep and
we brought the shell down to Charlies for finishing the prep and paint. The
colour is Hyper Blue off a new mini and was chosen by Kirstie after seeing it in
a car park. It fitted the project well as it was deep but not too dark. Charlie
finished off the prep, with Rich & I giving him a hand in the evenings when
we could. It was great to have a professional eye on the final prep as he could
see dents etc that we would have otherwise missed. It was good to see the car
finally taking shape too, although I was a bit nervous about drilling the bee
sting hole in case it wasn't level but it came out ok.
Charlie used a layer of black paint over the primer then a few of body colour followed by a few of laquer. When Rich & I picked it up it looked like a completely different car and the paint was fantastic. Absolute bargain of a price and an extremely quick turnaround too.
