This used to be the brother in laws, bought as a unfinished project. He
emigrated to New Zealand and it spent a few years rotting in the back garden. I
had been gradually collecting the bits to build it up,
but a chance conversation with Skibbly TV who are filming 'Campervan Crisis'
about a good mate Nige's van for Discovery Realtime, means this wasn't going to
be any stock restoration! Discovery wanted a 5 part series on restoring a
knackered bug to a custom car with a bit of bling - a bit like pimp my ride on
a limited budget. Between myself & my mate Richard, we had £5k and 5 months try
and make something a bit different. The £5k came in monthly instalments from
Discovery to be spent on the car. We didn't get any £ ourselves but it was a
once in a lifetime opportunity so who cares, although I have to admit it is
extremely weird seeing yourself on telly - do I really sound like that?
