Build Up Day Pt. 2

The doors were built up and I rebuilt the locks so they went off 1 key. Stuart and Mark got the messy job of removing the old and fitting the new cv joints and greasing them up.  Nige had the dubious honour of being lead sparky for the day - something he later regretted!. After some debate it was decided not to re-use the original loom (although un-hacked and safety tested) due to the significantly increased amount of electrics in the front end - the 6 digital gauges, polo ignition and switchgear etc. Due to the tightness of fitting everything in a custom fusebox was used instead of the original. Adi came over bringing lots of wire, proper terminals etc and he and Nige spent the majority of the day working away on this whilst we did the bolt on stuff. Quote of the day has to be Nige to camera saying "I'm just glad I'm not the one who has to finally commission this" - he was.

By the end of the day we had a fully rolling shell with all the wings, doors etc fitted and  2/3 of a scratch-built wiring loom which was a lot of work for 1 day. Rich & Adi also started designing a sub box to go behind the rear seat. At this point we had 3 weeks to get the car finished and mot'd.
